Icelandic startups, investors and stakeholders gather at Slush

Promote Iceland and Klak Innovit, in cooperation with Slush and the Embassy of Iceland in Finland are organizing an expedition for Icelandic startups, investors, media and startup community organizations, to attend the renowned Slush conference in Helsinki. Five Icelandic start-up teams have been chosen to participate in the Slush 100 Pitching competition. The teams are Rational Networks, Mure, Authenteg, Radiant Games og 3Z.

The main purpose of the delegation is to promote the Icelandic startup scene, and some of the most prominent startups of the country, to international investors and media, as well as to strengthen the ties between startup community leaders in the Nordic region.

Among the Icelandic delegation are keynote speakers, and participants of different panel and roundtable discussions at Slush. During their stay the delegation, which consists of over forty Icelanders will, apart from the Slush conference itself, be visiting Aalto University, the Finnish Parliament, Eduskunta, and joining key stakeholders at networking sessions hosted by the Embassy of Iceland in Helsinki.

The Icelandic and the Finnish startup communities have been intertwined before on various occasions. Klak Innovit, a leading startup community organizer in Iceland, has for an example been working closely with the Slush executive team during the last year. Promote Iceland on the other hand offers the companies consultancy and competence building programs for international marketing.


Eighteen prominent startups from Iceland are attending Slush –five were chosen from a group of 500 international applicants, pitch competition, to present their business ideas.

- Opportunities for future cooperation between the Nordic startup region are being discussed on various levels

- A special Nordic Champions Event is being organized at Slush.
