How to get a Visa to travel to Iceland

Voting for Icelanders in the upcoming local elections has started at the Embassy and with our Consuls.

Utankjörfundaratkvæðagreiðsla vegna sveitarstjórnarkosninga 26. maí 2018 er hafin í Sendiráði Íslands í Washington DC. Tekið er á móti kjósendum alla virka daga frá klukkan 10.30 til 15:30. Einnig verður hægt að kjósa hjá ræðismönnum Íslands. Listi yfir ræðismennwww.utanrikisraduneyti.is 
Athugið að panta þarf tíma hjá ræðismönnum áður en komið er að kjósa Gert er ráð fyrir að kjósendur kynni sér sjálfir hverjir eru í framboði og hvaða listabókstafir eru notaðir. Framboðsfrestur rennur út 5. maí og verða upplýsingar birtar um þá í kjölfarið.

Hagnýtar upplýsingar um kosningarnar verða birtar á www.kosning.is.

Kosningarrétt eiga allir íslenskir ríkisborgarar sem náð hafa 18 ára aldri á kjördag, 26. maí 2018, og sem skráðir eru með lögheimili í viðkomandi sveitarfélagi þremur vikum fyrir kjördag, þ.e. 5. maí 2018.

Námsmenn athugið:

Þjóðskrá Íslands hefur tekið upp nýtt umsóknarferli varðandi skráningu, og þurfa námsmenn að kynna sér það sjálfir.

Tilkynninguna skal senda rafrænt á eyðublaði K-101 sem er að finna á vef Þjóðskrár Íslands, skra.is. Tilskilið er að framvísa staðfestingu á námsvist. Gert er ráð fyrir því að makar og skyldulið námsmanna tilkynni sig á sama hátt með tilvísun í viðkomandi námsmann. Senda þarf inn nýja tilkynningu fyrir hverjar sveitarstjórnarkosningar.

NATO Exercise Trident Juncture 2018 in Iceland
As an integral part of Trident Juncture 2018, several activities took place in Iceland last week with the participation of some one thousand troops, leading up to the main part of the exercise in Norway. Ten naval vessels docked in Reykjavik Harbour over the weekend for a pre-sail conference.
