Two Icelandic children's books longlisted for UKLA Book Awards 2014

Two Icelandic children's books, Oliver by Birgitta Sif  and The Story of the Blue Planet by Andri Snær Magnason, were recently longlisted for the UK Literacy Association Book Awards 2014.





Nominees are selected by both primary and secondary school teachers in the UK and this year over 300 titles were submitted for the award's three categories; books for children aged 3-6, 7-11 and 12-16+. This time, the teacher judges are from Sussex and the winners will be announced in the University of Sussex on 4th July 2014.

The UKLA was founded in 1963 and is a registered charity with the aim of encouraging the advancement of education in literacy.
