Icelandic Films at Sheffield Doc/Fest 13 - 17 June 2012

A delegation from Reykjavik Shorts&Docs Festival took part in Sheffield Doc/Fest, one of the largest documentary festivals in Europe, for the first time this year. The Embassy of Iceland supported a reception where over 100 guests, including decision makers from the BBC, ITV, Discovery Channel and National Geographic, had the opportunity to meet the Icelandic delegation and discuss the opportunities and ever increasing interest of filming and producing in Iceland.

Two Icelandic films, Grandma Lo:fi The Basement Tapes of Sigrídur Níelsdóttir and Heima, a documentary about the Icelandic band Sigurros, were featured at the festival.
