Víkingur Ólafsson piano concert
The visionary and pioneering Icelandic star Víkingur Ólafsson makes his debut in the International Piano Series at Southbank Centre.
Víkingur brings his creative vision to a rich programme featuring Bach’s Partita No.6 in E minor, with its clarity, intellect and immense emotional range. Followed by a selection of works by Chopin all in the same key, F minor, both composer and performer explore the different poetic worlds woven out of one tonality. Brahms' ambitious and exuberant Sonata No.3, also in F minor, completes this original programme.
"Amazing virtuosity; monumental, rapt intensity" (The Daily Telegraph).
