More Icelandic food products on the Russian market

Sales of specially prepared quality products of Icelandic lamb meat into the demanding upper-scale Russian market has increased steadily the past three years since the Icelandic food producers SS and KS started participating in the annual ProdExpo Food Exhibition in Moscow. Along with quality cuts of mutton and horse meat, the total export has almost quadruplicated.

The export company, G. Ingason, has at the same time increased it´s market share of canned cod liver and is now promoting lumpfish roe for caviar production.

Glacial Water, a quality brand of fresh Icelandic bottled water which has already made inroads into the demanding Russian market for high quality food products was also to be found at FoodExpo.

The Embassy of Iceland in Moscow has been actively involved in the marketing efforts these past years.
