Rector of the University of Iceland, Kristín Ingólfsdóttir, visit Beijing
Kristín Ingólfsdóttir Rector of the University of Iceland, and Geir Sigurðsson, the director of Northern Light Confucius Institute in Iceland visited China from 7 to 13 December. They visited three universities in Beijing, Beijing University, Beijing Foreign Studies University and Renmin University. They were accompanied by Ambassador Gunnar Snorri Gunnarsson and Yan Ping Li from the Embassy of Iceland.
Rector Ingólfsdóttir signed a General Agreement for Academic Exchange with Beijing University and the Beijing Foreign Studies University. A similar agreement with Renmin Univeristy will be signed in the near future.
Several Icelandic students are currently studying in China, and Chinese Students studying in Iceland. The signing of these agreements, student exchange between Iceland and China should strengthen considerably.
