Opening of an Icelandic/Chinese company in Beihai

Ambassador Gunnar Snorri Gunnarsson visited Beihai City to attend the opening ceremony of the new fish processing plant of Elite Seafood on November 11.

Elite seafood, 51% owned by the Icelandic Group, is a leading tilapia firm in China with integrated business of farming, processing and marketing.

In addition to attending the Elite opening ceremony, Mr. Ambassador also held constructive meeting with Mr. Mo Hua, Vice Mayor of Beihai. At the meeting, Mr. Mo expressed their hope for Elite Seafood to lead the development of fisheries sector in Beihai City and affirmed the support of local government to the further growth of Elite Seafood. Representatives of Elite Seafood highly appreciate the efforts of Embassy in creating more favorable business environment for them as before.

On his way to Beihai, Ambassador Gunnar Snorri Gunnarsson also visited representatives of the 3 Icelandic companies in Shenzhen.
