Icelandic Residence Permits Entitling Holders Visa Free Travel Within the Schengen Area

Recognised (and valid) Icelandic Residence Permits allowing aliens to travel (if in possession of a valid passport) within and into the Schengen area without a visa. This is limited to three months:

• Tímabundið atvinnu- og dvalarleyfi
  (Limited Work and Residence Permit / Permis provisoire)
• Dvalarleyfi með rétti til atvinnuþátttöku
  (Residence permit with the right to take up occupation)
• Óbundið dvalarleyfi
  (Permanent Residence Permit / Carte de séjour permanent)
• Leyfi til vistráðningar
  (Permit for Au-Pair Placement / Permis de travail dans le cadre d'un placement au-pair)
• Atvinnu- og dvalarleyfi námsmanns
  (Work Permit for Student / Permis de travail pour étudiant)
• Óbundið atvinnu- og dvalarleyfi
  (Permanent Work and Residence Permit / Permis permanent)

Special residence permits issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs:

• Diplómatískt Persónuskilríki
  (Diplomatic Identity Card)

  (Identity Card)
