Rauðasandur Festival

Rauðasandur Festival is a small music and event festival in the West Fjords of Iceland. The first festival was on the first weekend of July 2011. 

 

Rauðisandur, (“Red sands”) a settled district in an arc between the Skorarhlíðar slopes and the Látrabjarg cliffs,

taking its name from the colour of the sand on the coast. A narrow area of flat land, cut across by the Bæjarvaðall lagoon, above which are steep rocky slopes. This is the westernmost township in Iceland and indeed in Europe.
