The Icelandic Economy – From Bust to Boom to Bust Again?
The Icelandic American Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting and Luncheon will take place on October 15th, 2015 at the '21' Club in New York City.
Þorsteinn Víglundsson, Director General, Business Iceland, is the keynote speaker at the IACC luncheon following the annual meeting. He will discuss the status of the Icelandic economy and answer questions from the audience.
What is the status of the Icelandic economy? Is the economy overheating and is there another bubble around the corner? How can we prevent another crash? Is Iceland open for business and how healthy is the investment environment; capital controls, job market, inflation etc.?
Business Iceland is a service organization for Icelandic businesses. Business Iceland projects include negotiations of collective agreements with unions on wages and working conditions, the advocation of an internationally competitive legal and regulatory environment, and the interpretation and communication of decisions by governmental authorities that directly affect the business environment. Business Iceland and its member associations include about 2,000 businesses. The organization accounts for about 70% of all salaried employees on the Icelandic labour market.
The annual meeting of the Icelandic-American Chamber of Commerce in New York City will take place on Thursday, October 15th at 11:15 a.m. before the luncheon.
