The Existence of Space in Dreams...
Wednesday 8 February 7.30pm
Two emerging choreographers from Israel and Iceland present two visually compelling pieces through a dramatic combination of arresting design, evocative music and drifting films.
Nothing But Space:
Through dialogue with architect Zoe Saric, Yael Asher captures the delicate relationship between structure and movement. Using a malleable wall and flexible metal skirts, dancers interact, manipulate and blend the worlds of dance and architecture.
Using dancers ranging from 20 to 60 years old and an original sound score by Gudni Franzson, choreographer Lara Stefansdottir investigates our hopes and dreams as they span different generations. Instinctive images are created through body, music and visual imagery inspired by the writings of her fellow countryman, Arni Ibsen.
This is a significant opportunity to catch these up and coming international choreographers at a critical stage in their careers.
