Nordic Film Festival 25 November - 4 December

The second Nordic Film Festival will take place at the Riverside Studios in London from 25 November - 4 December 2013!

The Nordic Film Festival returns to London with a touring edition after last year's success and its organisers, Day for Night, plan to bring more Nordic cinematic treats to UK audiences this winter, celebrating some of the freshest filmmaking talent from the far North. This year's programme brings together a diverse mix of dramas, crime thrillers, documentaries, animation and shorts and focuses on Danish film director Nicholas Winding Refn and Icelandic band Sigur Rós.

Icelandic films at this year's Nordic Film Festival:

101 REYKJAVÍK
(Baltasar Kormákur, Iceland/Denmark/France/Norway/Germany 2001) Trailer.
London: Riverside Studios, 29 November at 6:30pm
Twenty-something waster Hlynur lives at home with his mother. When she welcomes lesbian flamenco teacher lola as their lodget, Hlynur is captivated by her, so too is his mother.

SIGUR RÓS DOUBLE BILL: INNI
(Vincent Morisset, Iceland/UK/Canada 2011) Trailer
London: Riverside Studios, 2 December at 6:45pm.
Known for their majestic and haunting soundscapes, this second live film featuring Sigur Rós follows on from Heima (2007). Constructed through visuals from their live show interspersed with archival footage, this is a beautifully intense portrait of the seminal Icelandi band.

SIGUR RÓS DOUBLE BILL: VALTARI MYSTERY FILM EXPERIMENT
(Various, 2012) Trailer
London: Riverside Studios, 2 December at 8:45pm.
Sigur Rós commissioned 12 filmmakers and fans to each create a short film in response to their 2012 album Valtari. The result is an analogy of short films which combine to form a poetic experiment in both music and film, expressing a broad range of personal responses from across the emotional spectrum.
