Iceland's Prime Minister attended the Nordic/Baltic/UK Summit in London
Prime Minister Sigurdardottir attended the Nordic/Baltic/UK Summit in London on 19-20 January. The Summit, hosted by David Cameron, brought together Prime Ministers as well as policy innovators, entrepreneurs and business leaders from the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
This was the first meeting of its kind and Prime Minister David Cameron noted that the meeting brought together people and ideas from nine countries facing common challenges. "We are coming together in London to listen and to learn and to capture ideas, the kind of ideas that can make our societies better places for our citizens to live in."
Five Icelandic nationals made presentations during the summit; Vilborg Einarsdottir (InfoMentor), Soffia Gisladottir (the Directorate of Labour in North and East Iceland), Margrét Pála Ólafsdóttir (Hjalli Pedagogy), Helga Valfells (New Business Venture Fund) and Dr. Jon Agust Thorsteinsson (Marorka).
