Gerdur KristnyThe Poet in the City, a charity committed to attracting new audiences to poetry have invited the Icelandic poet Gerður Kristný to present her new book of poetry, “Blóðhófnir” (Bloodhoof) at an event on 2 September.

Gerður Kristný, who is one of the most celebrated poets/authors in Iceland, was awarded the Icelandic Literature Awards in 2010 for Blóðhófnir, which is based on an ancient Nordic myth. In addition, Gerdur has published collections of poetry and short stories, novels, books for children and a biography, for which she received The Icelandic Journalism Award in 2005.

The event will take place in Waterstone’s (6th Floor), 203-206 Piccadilly, London W1J 9HD on 2 September at 6:30 pm.
