The Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict is currently being held in the ExCel Centre in London and is hosted by Foreign Secretary William Hague and UN Special Envoy Angelina Jolie. Iceland is represented by Foreign Minister Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson.

The Summit is the largest ever held on the issue of sexual violence in conflict, bringing together representatives of 123 countries and over 900 experts, NGOs, faith leaders, activists and survivors. Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson will emphasise the hidden victims of sexual violence and the improvement of women's participation in delivering peace and security.

Iceland supports the historic UN Declaration to End Sexual Violence in Conflict, which was launched in New York on 24 September 2013 during the 68th United Nations General Assembly.
