Exploring Gisli Saga

The University of Cambridge has produced a film on University research taking place in Iceland exploring the Gisli Saga as well as the Icelandic landscape.

Dr. Emily Lethbridge criss-crossed the Icelandic countryside investigating the deep-rooted significance of the sagas to Icelanders today, during a unique year-long research trip - conducted from the back of a decommissoned Land Rover ambulance. Her research trip is scheduled to end in December. By that time, she hopes to have visited most of the 30 plus actual Sagas of Icelanders (Íslendingasögur) sites, and in the process breathing a new life and understanding into the centuries-old Sagas.

The film is freely available to embed on other websites. Video on Vimeo is here: http://vimeo.com/29594820 and
