Celebration of Icelandic Independence - December 1st 2008
A cultural event to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Icelandic independence will take place at 19:00 on Monday, December 1st, at London’s Cadogan Hall. This celebration is under the auspices of The Icelandic Church in London, The Icelandic Society and The Icelandic Embassy.
The former President of Iceland, Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, will be the evening’s keynote speaker. A rich and varied programme will be presented, with diverse contributions from Icelandic artists from near and far.
All Icelanders and Iceland’s well-wishers are urged to set this evening aside to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Iceland’s independence in this difficult and troublesome period in her history.
Admission is free.
