Art on Fire Exhibition

Art on Fire is an arts exhibition at Camberwell Space to mark the Olympic Flame passing through the aera. The exhibition will be open until 10 August 2012. Aaron McPeake is one of the artists that has works on display:

[The works] are based on the volcanic topographical landscapes of Iceland and are made in much the same way - with hot metal acting like lava... Five of these pieces are on display at Camberwell though they are part of a much larger body of work.

From the press release:

Smoke and mirrors, burnt houses, archives on fire, sirens and alarms... To mark the Olympic Flame passing through Camberwell, UAL PhD artists and associates, present an exhibition that considers fire in its ceremonial, ritualistic, metaphysical and symbolic aspects; as well as its physical, audio-visual and scientific representations. An artists' residency relay will pass the torch of audience encounter across three weeks; as practitioners work in the galleries, alongside the exhibits.
