Iceland A Capella 11 Icelandic choirs from all over Europe will be performing works drawn from traditional and contemporary Icelandic music along with a selection of music from other countries both as separate and combined choirs on Saturday 18 April 2015.

Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize Honours Icelandic Project

A picture of Freyja Haraldsdóttir, politician, project manager, human rights activist by Gabrielle Motola, was selected for the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize 2014. An exhibition with the selected photos opened at the National Portrait Gallery last week and will be open to the public from November 13th until mid February 2015. This prize is a great honour as over 1700 photographers submitted over 4,000 photographs of which 60 were selected for the exhibition.

Nordic Film Festival 2014

Nordic Film Festival returns to the UK with another diverse mix of fresh and classic features, docs and shorts, showcasing some of the most celebrated and emerging filmmaking talent of the Nordic region. This year’s theme is horizons as we explore the diverse and ever-expanding landscape of Nordic culture through cinema - from explorations to journeys, to cross-cultural experiences and collaborations. The Festival opens in London on 26 November and runs through to 7 December. The Festival then goes on to Nottingham, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

A small eruption has started in Dyngjujökull glacier in the Northern part of Vatnajökull glacier.
