Icelandic Government Scholarships 2018 - 2019
The Icelandic Ministry of Education, Science and Culture awards annually a number of scholarships for studies in Icelandic as a second language at the University of Iceland in Reykjavik. The scholarship programme is administered by the Árni Magnússon Institute for Icelandic studies. Approximately 15 scholarships are available for the period

Sturla Sigurjonsson new Permanent Secretary of State
The Minister for Foreign Affairs has appointed Ambassador Sturla Sigurjonsson as Permanent Secretary of State from 1 September 2017. Ambassador Stefan Haukur Johannesson, who was Permanent Secretary from 2014, will lead ongoing Brexit related assignments until he resumes duties abroad.

Icelandic participation at Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2017
The annual Edinburgh Fringe Festival and Edinburgh International Festival have started, celebrating arts and culture with thousands of exciting performances over three weeks in Scotland's capital. Two Icelandic stand-up comedians take part in this year's fringe Fringe and one celebrated Icelandic opera singer at the International Festival.
