Future of Hope: A positive documentary film about Iceland, a film that shows Iceland as a role model for the rest of the world.

The director, Henry Bateman and the producer, Heather Millard, both come from England. They moved to Iceland in the summer of 2009 to embark on the making of a documentary about the positive and inspirational things that have come out of Iceland since the economic crash in 2008. The goal of the documentary is therefore not to dwell on ´what went wrong’ but rather to look at the positive ideas,  people and companies that Iceland now has, and to improve Iceland´s  reputation and  image on a global scale.

The film is primarily character driven, following the organic farming movement in Iceland, re-invention and entrepreneurship and renewable energy.  An interview is taken with the former President of Iceland and the first female president of the world, Mrs Vigdís Finnbogadóttir, among  others.

The Icelanders involved in the making of the documentary are among others Herbert Sveinbjörnsson, Elísabet Ronaldsdóttir, Gunnar Steinn Úlfarsson, Una Lorenzen, Svala Magnea Georgsdóttir and Biggi Hilmarsson.

The documentary is getting great reviews and already has more than 3000 fans on Facebook.  You can reach a trailer here and further information is to be found here.
