Geothermal cooporation Ambassador Jónsson met today with Mr. Igor Slyunyayev, Minister for Regional Dvelopment, to talk about the relationship between Iceland and Russia with emphasis on cooperation on the utilization of geothermal energy. Special discussion took place about a district heating project in Tomsk region, which is being prepared with Icelandic participation.

Icelandair and Rossiya Airlines sign cooperation agreement Icelandair and Rossiya Airlines customers can now purchase one ticket and travel to any of the destinations within the flight network of both airlines in Russia, Iceland, North America or Europe. This is based on a cooperation agreement signed between the two airlines. Icelandair is also in cooperation with Finnair, SAS, Alaska Airlines, JetBlue, Frontier, WestJet, Porter Airlines and Air Greenland. Icelandair started flights to St. Petersburg in June of 2013.

More Icelandic food products on the Russian market Sales of specially prepared quality products of Icelandic lamb meat into the demanding upper-scale Russian market has increased steadily the past three years since the Icelandic food producers SS and KS started participating in the annual ProdExpo Food Exhibition in Moscow. Along with quality cuts of mutton and horse meat, the total export has almost quadruplicated.
