Stjarnan football club played in Krasnogorsk

Stjarnan from Iceland lost 3-1 against fellow debutants FK Zorkiy in their second leg of the UEFA Women’s football Champions League round of 32 in Krasnogorsk in Russia on Thursday. The first leg ended with a goalless draw in Iceland so FK Zorkiy are through to the next round earning a last-16 meeting with Lyon. Vira Dyatel opened the scoring for the home side on 33 minutes and then added another goal early in the second half. Maria Ruiz then made it 3-0 before substitute Elva Friðjónsdóttir managed to score for the visitors, their first ever European goal in the history of Stjarnan.
