Arctic Issues

On March 20th Ambassador Jónsson had meetings with Dr. Artur Chilingarov, member of the Federation Council, and Mr. Igor Fyodorov, Governor of Nenets Autonomous Region to discuss Arctic issues. Dr. Chilingarov is a famous Arctic explorer and  Special Representative on Arctic and Antarctic issues to the President of the Russian Federation.

Earlier in the day the Ambassador met with Mr. Nikolai Kharitonov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on North and Far East Regional Affairs, to discuss relations between Iceland and Russia and Arctic issues.
