India to open a diplomatic mission in Iceland

The Foreign Minister of Iceland, Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir, has written a letter to Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee, where she applauds the Indian Government's decision and affirms her conviction that the opening of an Indian mission in Iceland will further strengthen the bilateral relationship of India and Iceland across a wide range of issues.

Iceland opened its Embassy in New Delhi in February 2006.  Currently, the Embassy of India in Oslo, is accredited to Iceland as well as Norway.
