Foreign Minister Gísladóttir honoured in Washington D.C.

In her address, the Foreign Minister discussed the prerequisites and importance of strengthened participation of women in international politics, and described how such gender-based focus can lead to better results. Following her address, Mrs. Gísladóttir answered questions from the audience on Iceland’s candidacy to the UN Security Council, the future of Kosovo, the situation in the Middle East, on renewable energy issues etc.
