Currently Ambassador to France, Italy, Spain, Andorra, Algeria, Morocco, Lebanon, Tunisia, Djibouti and Monaco

Permanent representative to the Council of Europe, OECD and UNESCO

Berglind has more then 35 years of service in civil service in Iceland and at international organisations :

- Deputy Secretary General to the OECD, responsible for social environmental health and sustainable development

- Secretary General for housing municipal affairs, social questons, social security and health, Ministry of Welfare

- Director for Economic and European Affairs, Ministry for Foreign Affairs

- Secretary General of the Nordic Council, Copenhagen

- Counsellor, Embassy of Iceland in Bonn and Stockholm and Deputy permanent representative to the Council of Europe        

 

Education

1978:  Graduated from the University of Iceland with Cand. Jur. degree (in Law) special emphasis on tax law.

1985:  MA in International Relations, Boston University
