WTO Doha Development Agenda Global Trust Fund
Iceland has donated CHF 60,000 to the Doha Development Agenda Global Trust Fund (DDAGTF), which brings our total contribution to CHF 285,000. This donation will finance technical assistance programmes and training activities for developing and least developed countries as well as economies in transition.
The Doha Development Agenda Global Trust Fund (DDAGTF) was established in 2002, in order to receive extra budgetary contributions from WTO Members to finance the implementation of the annual technical assistance plans.
Iceland has contributed annually to the fund since its foundation.
Pascal Lamy, Director General of WTO, declared “I welcome this new donation which demonstrates Iceland's commitment to assist developing countries in fully benefiting from the multilateral trading system.”
Kristinn F. Árnason, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of Iceland, stated that the contribution reflected Iceland's concrete and continuous efforts to make trade a tool for development and poverty reduction.
