The exhibition Nordic Design Today features works by five Nordic designers: furniture, lamps, glassware, industrial design and fashion. The Design Experience-talk features keynotes by Danish fashion designer Henrik Vibskov and Finnish industrial designer Harri Koskinen. Next eight young Nordic designers present their artistic positions and discuss the future role of design: What is moving the design world? – How can design move the world? They reflect on their design-thinking and design-process considering their cultural background and the question of social and environmental responsibility of design. A concluding discussion introduces the unique positions of five young Nordic designers taking a stance on - among other themes - the relationship between art and design.
Besides Henrik Vibskov and Harri Koskinen, the participating designers are: Anton Alvarez (SE), Simon Klenell (SE), Katrin Greiling (SE), Siren Elise Wilhelmsen (NOR), Morten Skjærpe Knarrum (NOR), Jonas Norheim (NOR), Alina Moat Breuil (DK), Vibeke Trolle (DK), Rasmus Bækkel Fex (DK), Antti-Jussi Silvennoinen (FIN), Vesa Kattelus (FIN), Mari Isopahkala (FIN), Kristín Eva Ólafsdóttir (IS), Þórunn Árnadóttir (IS) and Magnea Einarsdóttir (IS).
