The third documentary on Iceland in CCTV

Iceland’s success against smoking was described as an example for China in the program, City 1 on 1, which was broadcast on CCTV4 on Sunday, May 27 on the occasion of the International Anti-Smoking Day, May 31. This is the 3rd TV-program on Iceland produced by CCTV as a result of its cooperation with the Embassy of Iceland in Beijing on the occasion of the 40 year Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Iceland and China in 2011.

Ragnar Baldursson, Minister Counsellor at the Embassy of Iceland, was a special guest of the program together with Mr. Liu Zejun, Director of the office of Beijing Patriotic Health Campaign Commission. During the program, which was in Chinese without interpretation, Ms. Erla Magnusdottir, Public Health Specialist. who is based in Beijing, answered questions and commented on facts and figures on anti-smoking measures in Iceland. Anti-smoking Posters from Reykjavik City and Beijing were compared and doctors and anti-smoking specialists interviewed.
