Icelandic art in Beijing.

The Ambassador of Iceland, H.E. Mr. Gunnar Snorri Gunnarsson attended the opening of the Group Exhibition, Confronting The Image, of artists from the UK, Netherlands, China, Belgium as well as the Icelandic artist Ragna Róbertsdóttir. The exhibition takes place at the Elements of MOCA in Beijing from 21 November until 8 January 2009.

Ragna Róbertsdóttir does not only seek her inspiration in Icelandic landscapes, her raw material is directly drawn from Icelandic volcanoes and hot springs. One work at the exhibition is made of pumice from Mount Hekla and another is formed from mud taken from a hot spring. Icelandic glaciers are represented by broken glass.
