Eimskip Opens an Office in Qingdao

On November 1 Eimskip, an Icelandic shipping line, opened an office in Qingdao. The official opening ceremony took place on November 2 at the Crown Plaza Hotel and around 100 guest attended , amongst them ambassador Eidur Gudnasson. Bragi Thor Marinosson, executive vice president of Eimskip International was there to officially open the office. Ambassador Gudnason devilvered a short congratulatory address.

Eimskip is a subsidiary of the Icelandic Steamship Company Ltd. Eimskip Holding which was originally founded in 1914. The company was the first shipping line in Iceland but through the years it has evolved from being a shipping line to a total transportation and logistics company as well as investment company.
The opening of an office in Qingdao was a part of the ongoing development of Eimskip's worldwide transport network for seafood products. The office will initially be operated as a branch of one of Eimskip's subsidiaries in the Netherlands. To begin with the office will have 8 workers with James Liu as the CEO.
