Ambassador visits Zhangjiaje
This province that was recently hit by the severe snowstorms earlier this year is recovering and life is returning back to normal.
Zhangjiajie is famous for its scenic spots and its fantastic landscapes and is the site of China's first National Forest Park and Wulingyuan has been enlisted in the World Natural Heritage by UNESCO and was selected as one of the first world geological parks. It also has thriving communities of several minority groups.
Zhangjiajie is now raising its international profile and consolidating its reputation and counts on tourism as its main resource for future development. Iceland as another country relying on its natural beauty to attract tourism could be an interesting partner. Ambassador Gunnarson held talks with Vice Mayor Xiao Lingzhi on possibilities for further cooperation and was given a certificate of appreciation.
