New Ambassador

 
 
Earlier today, Mr. Sturla Sigurjónsson presented his credentials to the Governor General as the Ambassador of Iceland to Canada, at a ceremony at Rideau Hall. Apart from the ten provinces and three terretories of Canada, reaching from the Atlantic to the Pacific and towards the Arctic, the Embassy in Ottawa is also responsible for Iceland´s diplomatic relations with Bolivia, Ecuador, Honduras, Colombia, Panama, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela. Ambassador Sigurjónsson has served in the Icelandic foreign service for 27 years and his previous posting was as Ambassador to Denmark (see CV).
