Prime Minister of Icelands visits Luxembourg and Brussels

The Prime Minister of Iceland, Mr. Geir H. Haarde, visited Luxembourg and Brussels on the 26 and 27 February 2008. He visited the Icelandic banks in Luxembourg on the 26 February and had meeting with Jean-Claude Juncker, Prime Minister of Luxembourg. He then went to Brussels and met with Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, Secretary General of NATO. In the evening the Prime Minister opened the Icelandic festival, Iceland on the Edge.

On the 27 February the Prime Minister met in Brussels with Guy Verhofstadt, Prime Minister of Belgium, followed by a meeting with Javier Solana, Secretary General and High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy. He then met with José Manuel Barroso, the President of the European Commission as well as Benita Ferrero-Waldner, Commissioner for External relations and European Neighbourhood Policy, Joaquin Almunia, Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs and with Olli Rehn, Commissioner for Enlargement.
