EU-Iceland Joint Parliamentary Committee

The 3rd EU-Iceland JPC (Joint Parliamentary Committee) took place on October 5th in Brussels. The discussion focused on the reform of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP), changes within the Schengen zone, economic policy and developments within the Arctic region.

The state of play of negotiations was discussed with invited guests Iceland's Chief Negotiator Stefán Haukur Jóhannesson, European Commission Director at DG Enlargement Ms Alexandra Cas Granje and the Polish Secretary of State Mr. Radoslaw Sikorski.

Two intergovernmental conferences will be held before the end of the year, one in October and one in December. The next EU-Iceland JPC will take place from 2-4 April in Reykjavík.
