Boulevards/Rings and urban boundaries in Europe 19th — 21st centuries

This international conference on history and town planning is about a specific urban form: the belt boulevard/ring.  The conference will be divided into two parts: the first, which will be held in Brussels on May 15th and 16th 2013, will be dedicated to boulevards/rings built in the 19th century, their transformations and prospective ; the second, to be held in Reykjavík on September 26th and 27th 2013 will be dedicated to boulevards/rings built in the 20th century

This conference is a collaboration between the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and the Faculty of Humanities at University of Iceland (Háskóli Íslands (HÍ)), the Faculties of Architecture at Université Libre de Bruxelles and at Iceland Academy of the Arts (Listaháskóli Íslands (LHÍ)
