EU Accession

Iceland applied for EU membership on 17. July 2009 and formal negotiations commenced on 27 July 2010.  One of the main tasks of the Mission of Iceland to the EU is to support the Chief Negotiator and the ten negotiating groups working in Reykjavik.  The Mission is in regular contact with the European Commission, Member States representations, the European Parliament and other candidate countries.
