Ragnhildur Johanns (f.1977) graduated with a BA degree from the Art Academy of Iceland in 2010. She has worked on art and writing since shown her work and performances intionationally. She is a sculptural, visual and physical poet, unhindered by convention. She works with text, with performance but seeks to create poetic objects, pure concrete poems, that is literally fashioning books out of her work and embodying the text.

Ragnhildur has been involved in various creative projects such as exhibitions, readings and publishing.

About the art work:

The object book is the possibility of a poem and I have been generating poems from the books that find their way to me. I do not need for the poetry to be readable, but it is sufficient to me that the possibility of the poem is visible through the object. Each and every word pulled out of the book is carefully chosen to form a context-free romantic poem. The poems are extracted from the books, the sentances never leave the books and are not glued in, just pulled out and leaving them there with the book itself become part of the poem.
