Singapore Sling on 29 May in Vienna
The Icelandic rockband SINGAPORE SLING from Reykjavik are playing their first concert in Austria on 29 May 2007, as a part of their European Record Release Tour.
Singapore Sling is a darkly psychedelic band from Reykjavik, Iceland. They are inexplicable and elusive but remind of the drugged out soul power bands like Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine.
Their debut album "The Curse of Singapore Sling" came already out in summer 2003 in the USA and Iceland. Two more albums followed, which were only released in the USA and Iceland.
Nevertheless, the band has gained a big fan community all over the globe - by several tours in the USA, among others as the support for Brian Jones Town Massacre and the Raveonettes, concerts in the United Kinddom and Scandinavia, and the internationally highly regarded Iceland Airwaves Festival in Reykjavik. The "8mm Musik" label from Berlin made it to its business to promote the band in the rest of the world. "8mm Musik" picked ten pearls from the previous 3 albums to publish the anthology "The curse, the life, the blood" in May 2007 and booked a tour through Germany, France, Austria, Italy and Czech Republic to give Singapore Sling the hard-earned publicity and their fans the chance to see them live.
