„The OSCE cooperation is work in progress and it requires patience“
H.E. Mr. Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Iceland, participates in the annual meeting of foreign ministers at the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) which began yesterday in Kiev, Ukraine. In his address the Minister for Foreign Affairs urged the Government of Ukraine to work on a solution to the political disputes in the country, to respect the freedom of expression and the right to a peaceful assembly.

57 representatives of the Participating States take part in the OSCE Ministerial Council. Its main purpose is to ensure the implementation of commitments of the Participating States in the field of human rights, disarmament affairs and economic and environmental issues. Decisions on improving the rights of Roma people, safeguarding freedom of religion and ensuring the safety of journalists are among few of the decisions submitted to the meeting.
