Iceland's Foreign Trade
Traditionally fish and fish products have been an outstanding feature of Iceland´s export of merchandise. Today, Iceland exports a whole range of products but marine products are still very important accounting for a little less than half of the export total. Manifacturing products such as aluminium and ferro-silicon are around 40% of the export total. Iceland also exports agricultural products such as farmed fish, livestock, dairy products and Eiderdown to name a few.
The main export countries are other EEA-countries (mainly Germany, the Netherlands and the UK) but Iceland also exports to other European countries, the US and Japan. In 2007 Iceland´s exports amounted to 305,096 million Icelandic kronas (ISK) -- see exchange rate.
